WE WELCOME YOU!
To the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, a Missouri Synod congregation.
As you worship with us today, may our strong Lutheran Confessions and our emphasis on the forgiving and saving work of Jesus Christ though His Word and Sacraments encourage you.
It is our hope and prayer that throughout the service you may be strengthened in your faith, blest by the love of Jesus in your hearts, and be transformed by the renewing of your mind through the ministry of the Holy Spirit during our confessions, prayers, offering, music, children’s lesson, reading and preaching of God’s word and receiving the forgiveness of our sins through the blessed Sacrament of Holy Communion.
We are a people who are open to a form of worship that blends some of our basic Liturgical Lutheran Confessions with a more relational atmosphere that leaves room for the Holy Spirit to breath life, love and hope into our body, soul and spirit as the body of Jesus Christ.
We welcome and invite the young people, infants, small children and older youth to take part in our worship service through music, prayers, scripture reading, and basic bible lessons. We also celebrate infant baptism, instruction and then taking First Communion, Sunday school, becoming an acolyte and 2 years of Confirmation education, graduation and celebration.
Finally, and most importantly, we are all sinners saved by Sola gratia (by grace alone), Sola fide (by faith alone), Soli Deo Gloria (glory to God alone), Solus Christus (Christ alone), and Sola Scriptura (Scripture alone). May these blessed gifts, given freely to us by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, provide and empower the courage, faith and hope we need to face each day that God lovingly provides for us and prepare us to live with Him forever in heaven.
To Jesus Be the Glory!
Now and Forever!
If you are not familiar with our worship service, it can often be confusing at first. For this reason, we provide a visitor’s bulletin each week, designed to make the service easier to follow. The visitor’s bulletin includes everything, including hymns for the day. If you’d like one, just ask one of our ushers. If you still have trouble, don’t be afraid to ask one of our members to help you follow along. It may take you a Sunday or two to get used to our service, but we believe the beauty of our worship makes it worth it in the end.
You can also use this same full bulletin that we make available on our website on the media page. Just click the Sunday Bulletin button and then save it to your smart phone or tablet. It is usually made available on the website by the beginning of the weekend. We welcome the use of tablets and smartphones as long are they are set on mute during the service.
